Staff Engineer - Backend Development

Location: Hybrid, with onsite work at least 3 days per week in applicable locations including San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.

What you will do

• Design and architect backend solutions for hirify.global Cloud Manager.
• Lead technical decision-making, build consensus, and take ownership of key projects.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for design, coding, testing, and automation.
• Ensure deliverables meet standards for user experience, scale, resiliency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, Product, customers, and other stakeholders on requirements, planning, and roadmaps.
• Write technical white papers and blogs, file patents, and represent hirify.global at external seminars.

Requirements

• 12–15 years of backend or systems engineering experience, with 15+ years stated in the qualifications section.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed applications or systems software.
• Strong experience with web-scale applications, Linux, and hands-on technical leadership.
• Experience with Go, C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Working knowledge of storage, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, databases, and messaging technologies such as NATS, Kafka, or Pulsar.
