Market Manager, Mining

Location: Remote or hybrid; geography is not a limiting factor, with preference for candidates in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, or Utah. Regular travel to offices, project locations, team events, client meetings, and industry events is expected, including up to 20% overnight travel.

What you will do

• Develop and implement annual and five-year business plans for the mining market.
• Expand engineering services and secure surface mining projects and contract opportunities.
• Build relationships with current, prospective, and strategic mining clients.
• Lead proposals, RFP responses, interviews, presentations, outreach programs, and industry networking.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams on scope, schedules, staffing, contracts, design standards, budgets, and technical quality.
• Act as a project manager or project engineer when required by project size or technical scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, mining, or structural engineering.
• 10 or more years of progressive experience designing, commissioning, or managing mining, facility, and infrastructure projects.
• At least five years of multidisciplinary project management experience and at least two years of business development experience.
• Thorough knowledge of mining operations, processing, infrastructure, applicable design standards, and deliverable requirements.
• Working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally, including up to 20% overnight travel.

Nice to have

• Professional registration or a master’s degree.
• Experience with a major mining company or with mining operations, facilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Experience developing annual business plans and multiyear strategic market plans.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineering professionals.
• Active membership in professional societies and organizations.
