Senior Professional Engineer, Mechanical Engineering (Mining)

Location: Duluth, Minnesota or Bloomington, Minnesota; hybrid schedule with typically three days in the office and two days remotely. Candidates in greater Minnesota and Wisconsin may be considered. Regular travel to hirify.global offices, project sites, conferences, and team events is required, with travel of up to 10% and occasional overnight trips.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design for complex plant, building, and site-operation systems in mining, mineral processing, aggregate, and metals facilities.
• Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction documentation.
• Lead mechanical and multidisciplinary design teams from project conception through construction.
• Manage technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects of assigned projects.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and architecture professionals during design and construction.
• Develop proposals, marketing plans, client presentations, and stakeholder relationships under the Seller-Doer model.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer registration and 10 or more years of progressive experience designing industrial mechanical systems, including ventilation and process piping.
• Experience with project development, multidisciplinary coordination, technical communication, proposals, contracts, reports, and client presentations.
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced professionals and lead QA/QC reviews.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work in the stated hybrid arrangement and travel as needed, including site visits and occasional overnight travel.

Nice to have

• Professional registration in additional states.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or Plant 3D.
• Experience creating air balance diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, equipment general arrangement drawings, and piping or HVAC plans.
