Designer, Mechanical Engineering (Mining)

Location: Duluth, Minnesota or Bloomington, Minnesota; candidates must reside within regular commuting distance of one location. Hybrid schedule with typically three days in the office and two days remotely; travel of less than 10% may be required.

What you will do

• Prepare mechanical system drawings using design production software.
• Support design projects for complex plant and building systems and site operations.
• Perform basic mechanical calculations and complete redline revisions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering professionals.
• Develop layouts for industrial systems such as process piping and ductwork.

Requirements

• Associate degree in architectural technology, engineering technology, mechanical or building system design, CAD technology, or a related field.
• Four or more years of progressive experience designing industrial mechanical systems.
• High proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must reside within regular commuting distance of Duluth or Bloomington, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D ductwork and piping layout, process piping, or industrial mechanical design.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams, process piping diagrams, or piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Experience with Plant 3D or SolidWorks.
