Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical Distribution Equipment)

Location: Tualatin, Oregon, United States; regular work on the production floor is required, including standing and walking for approximately 40% of the workday.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for first-of-kind builds, prototypes, pilot runs, and new product launches.
• Review designs, drawings, bills of material, and customer requirements for manufacturability, serviceability, quality, safety, and cost.
• Develop manufacturing methods, work instructions, standard work, process flows, routings, tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids.
• Plan and validate processes, track defects and test failures, and lead root-cause and corrective-action activities.
• Define labor estimates, cycle times, staffing, line balancing, capacity assumptions, inspection points, and test requirements.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Test, Manufacturing, and suppliers to transition pilot builds into production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, electrical equipment, product launch, or related work.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with process development, standard work, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, ergonomics, Lean manufacturing, PFMEA, control plans, and corrective actions.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment or similar assemblies, including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, power distribution units, or industrial controls.
• Knowledge of UL requirements, NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A, electrical testing, torque requirements, wire routing, busbar assembly, and enclosure fabrication; proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, and ERP/MRP systems.
