Renewable Operation Center Operator or Senior Operator (Renewable Energy)

Location: Golden, Colorado, United States

Salary: $42.60–$59.67 per hour for the Renewable Operation Center Operator role; $58.48–$68.23 per hour for the Senior role. The anticipated starting base pay is $42.60–$59.66 per hour.

What you will do

• Direct, monitor, control, and coordinate the operation of a growing renewable generation fleet from a 24/7 monitoring and operations center.
• Remotely monitor and reset renewable assets, balance-of-plant equipment, substations, weather conditions, site performance, alarms, and communications.
• Analyze operational data and use predictive diagnostics, performance monitoring systems, and SCADA to identify equipment issues and improve fleet reliability.
• Coordinate curtailment procedures, operating parameters, emergency action plans, call-outs, outage schedules, and work orders with operations, engineering, transmission, and balancing authorities.
• Dispatch site personnel, escalate issues, maintain daily logs and reports, and support operating procedure development.
• Maintain required NERC certifications and training while contributing to reliability and operational improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, data analytics, economics, mathematics, engineering, or an equivalent analytical and technical field; five years of applicable experience may substitute for the degree.
• Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical decision-making skills.
• Working knowledge of power systems operations and the energy industry structure and market.
• Senior-level candidates should preferably have three years of power-system dispatching or control-room operations experience.
• Experience operating, maintaining, or engineering renewable generation equipment is preferred.
• RC NERC Certification is preferred for the Senior Operator role.
