2nd Shift CNC Operator (Manufacturing)

Location: Hiawatha, Iowa, United States; full-time, on-site. Second shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. No travel is required. Applicants must be a US Person, meaning a US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected person.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, surface finishing equipment, and vibratory tumblers using job specifications, setup sheets, and blueprints.
• Load materials and tooling, adjust machine settings, and maintain alignment and calibration.
• Inspect machined parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Monitor production, adjust operations, and report deviations or equipment malfunctions.
• Complete job travelers, inspection reports, time logs, and routine machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe manufacturing area and collaborate with supervisors and colleagues on machining issues and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• US Person status is required, including US citizenship, permanent residence, or protected-person status.
• GED or high school diploma.
• At least one year of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, setup sheets, and technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Familiarity with G-code and CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens, plus basic math and measurement-tool experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds, stand for extended periods, work overtime when needed, and complete a background check and drug screen.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of CNC mill experience in a production environment.
• Experience with Apex surface finishing machines or vibratory tumblers.
• Machining or manufacturing technology certification or apprenticeship completion.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or basic G-code editing.
