Group Manager, Structural Engineering (Mining)

Location: Duluth, Minnesota or Bloomington, Minnesota. Candidates must reside within regular commuting distance of one location. Hybrid arrangement with typically three days in the office and two days remotely; regular travel to offices, project or client locations, and conferences is required.

What you will do

• Lead the growth, direction, financial performance, and daily leadership of the Mining Structural team.
• Provide structural engineering guidance throughout the project lifecycle for process plants, material handling systems, equipment supports, foundations, platforms, access systems, and related facilities.
• Serve as lead structural engineer when needed and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities.
• Manage multidisciplinary projects, budgets, schedules, planning, construction coordination, and contract negotiations.
• Coach and mentor engineering professionals and support their professional development.
• Develop marketing plans, lead proposal efforts, represent hirify.global in project interviews, and maintain client relationships through conferences and networking.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (PE) license and 15 or more years of progressive structural design experience.
• Project experience with mining, heavy industrial facilities, processing plants, material handling systems, and process-related structures.
• At least five years of experience managing diverse multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience coaching, developing, or leading engineering professionals or project teams.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, proposal, specification, and technical-report communication skills.
• Ability to work outside normal hours and travel up to 20% for project meetings and client consultations.

Nice to have

• Professional registration in multiple states.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
