Designer, Structural Engineering (Mining)

Location: Duluth, Minnesota, or Bloomington, Minnesota; candidates must live within regular commuting distance. Hybrid schedule typically includes three days in the office and two days remotely. Travel to offices, project sites, or client locations may be required, with occasional overnight travel of up to 15%.

What you will do

• Prepare structural drawings, construction documents, graphic presentations, and 3D renderings using design production software.
• Draft and model structures for complex plant, building, and site-operation systems.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and complete redline revisions.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering professionals.
• Conduct site assessments, field verifications, building surveys, and construction observation activities as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Four or more years of progressive structural drafting and modeling experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of building systems, construction methods, construction documentation, and construction plan interpretation.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans and models and communicate effectively in project discussions.
• Ability to travel for site assessments, field verifications, and construction observations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience with building surveys, field verifications, professional services or consulting environments.
• Experience drafting and modeling structures in education, government, or industrial sectors.
