TL;DR
Sr. Production Planning Specialist (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing): Developing and managing material requirements plans for pharmaceutical manufacturing schedules with an accent on material availability, ERP/MRP data, supplier coordination, and regulated production. Focus on balancing supply and demand, optimizing inventory and storage capacity, monitoring SCM KPIs, and resolving material events that could disrupt production.

Location: Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 annually

Global pharmaceutical CDMO supporting the development and manufacturing of APIs and finished dosage forms across 16 sites and three continents.

What you will do

  • Develop, finalize, and communicate site material requirements plans aligned with customer demand and production schedules.
  • Plan and control approved material availability, considering storage conditions, capacity, forecasts, and production requirements.
  • Create process orders and maintain supply-chain data, including master data and bills of materials, in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, customer service, engineering, facilities, and information technology.
  • Schedule and expedite material deliveries and approvals while working with suppliers, brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Maintain SCM KPIs, supplier delivery performance metrics, change controls, and reports for stakeholders and corporate leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, demand planning, or MRP within a regulated manufacturing environment such as cGMP, FDA, or ISO.
  • Experience entering and retrieving data in ERP or MRP systems; SAP or Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of material requirements planning, supply and demand analysis, and inventory concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, organization, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Experience with Excel; proficiency must be demonstrated during the interview process.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-paced manufacturing environment and support quality and safety objectives.
