TL;DR
Advanced Manufacturing Operations Specialist (Manufacturing): Planning and optimizing machining, inspection, assembly, and shipping schedules for complex production programs with an accent on MRP/MES accuracy, capacity planning, and cross-functional readiness. Focus on resolving material and labor constraints, reducing work-in-process stagnation, and improving throughput and on-time delivery in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

Location: Torrance, California, United States. Must be lawfully able to access information and technology subject to US export controls and eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $75,070–$137,730 USD per year, depending on the Specialist II–IV level.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain schedules for machining, in-process inspection, assembly, final inspection, and shipping work centers.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with demand, program, and planning teams.
  • Host production standups and readiness meetings, communicate priorities, and resolve execution blockers.
  • Validate MRP dates against shop-floor conditions and coordinate corrections with planning and manufacturing engineering.
  • Investigate material shortages and labor constraints while improving capacity planning, resource forecasting, throughput, quality, and work-in-process flow.
  • Provide schedule visibility and performance updates to shop leads and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Ability to lawfully access US export-controlled information and technology.
  • 5+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in aerospace or high-complexity manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP and MES systems, production planning, forecasting, and schedule optimization.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, MS Project or Smartsheet, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, production, and quality teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Siemens NX PLM and eBOM-to-mBOM conversion.
  • Experience improving on-time delivery, reducing schedule variance, and driving systemic improvements.
