Electro-Mechanical Engineer II (Mechatronics)

Location: Statham, Georgia, USA; requires approximately 10% travel to customer plants and other sites.

What you will do

• Design capping machines, accessories, machine components, parts, assemblies, and production line layouts.
• Analyze customer requirements, configure systems, research design feasibility, and modify existing equipment to meet performance specifications.
• Use SolidWorks for 3D CAD design and AutoCAD for 2D electrical schematics and layout creation or modification.
• Develop automation solutions and intelligent robotics and instrumentation using mechanical, computer, electrical, and electronic technologies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Production, customers, vendors, and service technicians on design reviews, DFMA, testing, installation, and start-up.
• Maintain technical documentation, meet quality and schedule objectives, and resolve machinery-related customer and service issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in machine design and design for manufacturability; packaging experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of mechatronics experience; Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC experience is an advantage.
• Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, control systems, software development, electronics, automation, product handling, and assembly principles.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; approximately 10% travel is required.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks CSWE or CSWP certification.
• Sheet-metal experience and certification.
• Packaging machinery experience.
