Mechanical Engineer III (Senior)

Location: Sussex, Wisconsin, USA; travel to other hirify.global facilities as necessary

What you will do

• Design, validate, and bring new products and moderately complex components to market.
• Define functional requirements, develop designs, and evaluate cost, reliability, risk, safety, and overall effectiveness.
• Plan and assess fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, process validation, material specifications, and bills of materials.
• Use CAD and CAE systems to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, product specialists, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Mentor less experienced engineers, lead aspects of cross-functional projects, and take ownership of engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with new product design, machine design, multiple materials, and engineering change notices.
• Technical experience with 3D modeling using Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks, plus CAD/CAE analysis such as FEA or CFD.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, manage multiple projects, and communicate technical information to varied audiences.
• Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating across engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing.

Nice to have

• Experience with Windchill or equivalent PLM systems.
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
• Experience designing weather-protective or sound-attenuated enclosures and machine packaging involving airflow, heat mitigation, sound attenuation, and water ingress.
