Facilities Security Officer

Location: Hybrid in Chantilly, Virginia; candidates must reside in or around the greater Chantilly area due to required travel to the facility.

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Administer the company’s Facility Clearance (FCL) and personnel security clearance programs.
• Coordinate government inspections, audits, self-assessments, reporting, and security reviews.
• Manage FOCI compliance, mitigation agreements, government filings, and implications of ownership or corporate transactions.
• Oversee employee clearance applications, renewals, upgrades, transfers, terminations, briefings, and debriefings.
• Conduct internal audits, track corrective actions, maintain audit-ready records, and report security incidents.
• Deliver security orientation and refresher training while translating regulatory updates into practical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience administering U.S. Government facility and personnel security clearance programs.
• Strong understanding of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and facility clearance requirements.
• Experience with security compliance programs, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Knowledge of Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) regulations.
• Must reside in or around the greater Chantilly, Virginia area and be authorized to work in the United States. Travel: 5%.

Nice to have

• Previous Facility Security Officer experience in a cleared contractor environment.
• Experience administering or supporting FOCI mitigation arrangements.
• Active or previously held U.S. Government security clearance.
• Experience supporting classified work for the Department of Defense or other U.S. Government agencies.
• Familiarity with facility and personnel clearance processing systems.
