Safety Manager (Active Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Remote when not traveling; 75% travel required. Conditions: Herndon, Virginia, United States.

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage occupational safety and health programs across 163 DCSA facilities and maintain compliance with OSHA, DoD, and DCSA standards.
• Conduct facility safety assessments using risk-based prioritization and investigate, report, and mitigate mishaps and hazards.
• Perform ergonomic assessments, job hazard analyses, and industrial hygiene investigations to reduce workplace risks.
• Prepare facility, mishap, hazard, ergonomic, training, and monthly status reports.
• Provide safety training, consultation, and technical guidance to DCSA personnel, including quarterly Microsoft Teams training sessions.
• Oversee safety during facility renovations and MILCON projects, and manage the Quality Control Plan, inspections, corrective actions, and customer feedback processes.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in environmental health and safety or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, industrial engineering, or a related safety field.
• US citizenship required.
• Current Secret security clearance required.
• Current and valid driver’s license required.
• Availability for 75% travel required.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent credentials.
