Mobile Operating Engineer

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, USA; regular travel between properties and work in varying weather conditions are required.

Salary: $29.75–$35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and water systems across assigned commercial properties.
• Maintain chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, boilers, compressors, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including filter replacement, coil and condenser cleaning, lubrication, belt and bearing work, alignment, and water-treatment checks.
• Monitor energy management systems and adjust controls, gauges, valves, thermostats, and air-distribution equipment.
• Complete general property repairs, lighting and signage work, housekeeping, and fire and life safety inspections.
• Document activities, respond to emergencies and customer concerns, and work independently during shifts or on-call assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience operating HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems in a commercial property setting.
• Appropriate trade licenses or permits where required, plus Universal Technician certification for CFCs where required by local licensing rules.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Basic skills with Outlook, Excel, and Word, together with knowledge of building systems, energy management, and equipment repair.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, stoop, crouch, reach, and move safely between floors and properties.
