Staff Product Test Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Hybrid position based at the Edinburgh office, UK; candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate before starting

What you will do

• Design multi-site hardware and software solutions to reduce test time and production costs.
• Optimise and monitor production yield.
• Develop robust automated test equipment characterisation and qualification solutions.
• Collaborate with IC design engineers to define test methodologies and lead pre-silicon Design for Test initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement across the organisation and support the development of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with professional experience in mixed-signal test engineering.
• Strong expertise in semiconductor testing and IC production automated test equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of PCB layout and schematic design.
• Hands-on experience with a wide range of bench equipment.
• Deep understanding of analogue, digital, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Strong time management skills and experience working to tight, changing deadlines in a product development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Teradyne UltraFLEXplus or other IG-XL platforms.
• Programming skills in Python and Visual Basic.
• Familiarity with JMP, Spotfire, Cadence Allegro, or Altium.
• Knowledge of audio or power management test techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
