ALM Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, with travel to the London office a few times a month

What you will do

• Run the regular weekly ALM management information process and respond to daily and ad hoc requests.
• Check outputs for reasonableness, identify unusual results, and escalate issues.
• Prepare concise analysis and commentary on key movements.
• Support what-if analysis for trades, new assets, new pension risk transfer schemes, and reinsurance activity.
• Maintain reporting controls, methodologies, and process documentation.
• Troubleshoot data, model, and process issues while contributing to automated reporting improvements.

Requirements

• Experience delivering recurring analytical, finance, or reporting outputs to firm deadlines.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience checking results for reasonableness and escalating issues.
• Practical troubleshooting and process problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working with code, models, or automated workflows.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, ownership, and curiosity; interest in ALM, investments, risk, insurance, or pensions.
