Senior Portfolio Manager (Insurance Pricing)

What you will do

• Lead portfolio performance insights and support the pricing and portfolio management agenda for the London division.
• Partner with Managing Directors and underwriters to improve underwriting strategy, portfolio profitability, and decision-making.
• Develop, calibrate, and refine pricing models across relevant insurance classes.
• Monitor performance drivers across class and segment levels, including open market and delegated business.
• Support Quarterly Business Reviews and quarterly business planning with clear links between plans, performance, and actions.
• Build advanced analytics, pricing tools, dashboards, and automation in collaboration with actuarial, claims, data/IT, and delegated teams.

Requirements

• Deep London Market experience, including specialty lines, underwriting dynamics, portfolio performance drivers, and market practices.
• Strong pricing and actuarial expertise with hands-on experience developing, calibrating, and refining rating models.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SQL for extracting and analysing large datasets.
• Experience working with underwriters and senior stakeholders to communicate complex technical insights clearly.
• Strong commercial judgement, ownership, prioritisation, and delivery skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or similar.

Nice to have

• Python experience for modelling, analytics, and automation.
• Exposure to advanced analytics or data science techniques.
