Senior Systems Engineer II (AWS)

Salary: $95,300–$158,800 annual base pay, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available AWS infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, databases, identity, and serverless services.
• Build Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollback.
• Own monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term resilience improvements.
• Implement disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, cloud security, and cost optimization strategies.
• Support Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and scalable microservices architectures in collaboration with software engineering teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers, participate in technical reviews, and document architecture and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of systems or infrastructure engineering experience with significant hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong knowledge of EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and ECS or EKS.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools, plus CI/CD pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go and solid networking knowledge, including DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and VPC connectivity.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, distributed production systems, cloud security, and troubleshooting under time pressure.
• Strong communication skills and experience mentoring less-experienced engineers.

Nice to have

• AWS certification such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
• Experience in regulated industries and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or landing zone architectures.
• Experience supporting large-scale SaaS or data platforms.
