Software Engineer III - Cloud Platform

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. U.S. citizenship is required because the position may involve U.S. government work; the ability to obtain the appropriate security clearance is required.

Salary: $102,300–$147,050 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the public and private cloud PaaS layer that abstracts infrastructure, networking, and security requirements for internal product teams.
• Develop software and infrastructure as code using Python or Java, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Ansible, Kubernetes, GKE, GCP, and OpenStack.
• Design, operate, and improve CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for cloud-native application deployment and release management.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, documentation, and delivery of complex software projects.
• Monitor service health, analyze telemetry, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement reliability improvements.
• Partner with Agile development teams to integrate and deploy hirify.global software across the cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience and deep expertise in Python or Java.
• At least 1 year of GitOps, DevOps, or infrastructure-as-code pipeline experience supporting large teams.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, public cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub.
• Experience leading and delivering large-scale, complex software projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; ability to obtain an appropriate security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Terraform, and Ansible for GitOps and container-based deployment automation.
• Experience with scalable software architecture, design patterns, observability, and telemetry.
• Knowledge of DNS architecture, traffic management, service routing, canary and blue/green deployments, and zero-downtime migrations.
• Experience with API gateways and edge routing technologies such as NGINX, Envoy, or Kong.
• Experience with TLS/mTLS, certificate lifecycle management, Kubernetes operators, service networking, and service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd.
