Senior Systems Software Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid

Salary: $118,960–$178,440 annually. Geographic-specific pay structures may apply in California, New York City, and other eligible locations.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a Kubernetes platform supporting hundreds of developers and frequent application and infrastructure deployments.
• Design software solutions and automation for platform users and technical problems.
• Build and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Apply DevOps, Agile, GitOps, coding standards, and software engineering practices.
• Review, verify, validate, test, document, and maintain software code and services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of working experience and 5+ years of professional IT experience.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS Cloud Services, containerized applications, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• 5+ years of experience with systems monitoring and performance tuning, networking, Linux platforms, and modern programming or scripting languages.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins, and Agile or GitOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of certificates, firewalls, vulnerability management, authentication, authorization, unit testing, and Linux and Windows administration through the CLI.

Nice to have

• AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes certification, including AWS Certified or CKA credentials.
