Senior Software Engineer, Add-Ons (Python/Django)

Location: Remote Germany

Salary: €68,000–€91,000 EUR annually

What you will do

• Deliver major features and architectural improvements across add-on submission flows, automated moderation pipelines, DevHub, and reviewer tools.
• Work with Python/Django, MySQL, React/TypeScript, and asynchronous processing systems.
• Build reliable observability, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and internal developer platform capabilities.
• Improve CI/CD through declarative, pipeline-as-code approaches and safer progressive delivery.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, production readiness, recoverability, documentation, and operational practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, QA, support, and community contributors through iterative delivery and open development.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production applications with Python/Django.
• Experience with CI/CD, declarative infrastructure, automated integration testing, staged delivery, and production reliability.
• Strong understanding of observability, including metrics, logging, tracing, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
• Ability to trace complex behavior across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
• Experience with internal engineering platforms, operational practices, technical documentation, incident response, and debugging production issues.
• Strong collaboration, communication, technical writing, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills in a distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, or policy-as-code tooling.
• Experience with SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, disaster recovery testing, or production readiness reviews.
• Background in trust and safety, automated moderation, abuse prevention, adversarial systems, or open-source contributions.
