Hydraulics Engineering Intern (Hydraulics)

Location: Frederick, Maryland, United States; onsite work across office, field, and production environments

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assist design engineers with mechanical engineering tasks involving hydraulic systems for boom and scissor equipment.
• Select components based on weight, cost, reliability, quality, and ease of manufacturing.
• Prepare vehicle component layouts using Creo and other CAD software.
• Read hydraulic schematics and perform flow, pressure, and performance calculations.
• Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve design problems.
• Support vehicle and component testing, including analysis of hydraulic and prototype test data.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform detailed computer-based work as well as occasional physical tasks in field or production environments.
• Physical duties may include walking across shop floors and varied terrain, standing, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

• 3D modeling and drafting experience.
