Freelance Subtitlers (Hiring Multiple Languages)

Location: UK (Remote)

Rates: $60 per teaser for combined translation and QC; $10 for QA of 30/15-second trailers or teasers; $25 for QA of full trailers.

What you will do

• Translate and subtitle audiovisual trailers according to client-specific visual and technical specifications.
• Deliver subtitle files in SRT format.
• Translate actor dialogue, on-screen text, key artwork, and digital banner copy.
• Suggest forced narratives for plot-relevant on-screen information.
• Perform quality assurance on subtitles completed by other freelancers.
• Handle seasonal high-volume workloads, with availability for at least two titles per week during peak periods and frequent 24-hour delivery deadlines.

Requirements

• Native fluency in at least one of the listed languages: Burmese, Chinese for Singapore, Chinese for Taiwan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Flemish, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Kazakh, Khmer, Latin American Spanish, Latvian, Polish, Romanian, Slovenian, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, or Vietnamese.
• At least five years of subtitling experience.
• Experience with Subtitle Edit.
• High-level English.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to respond quickly to feedback.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Jira or another asset management tool.
• A portfolio or work samples.
