EU Spanish Linguist / Translator (Remote) - Gaming

Location: Fully remote within Portugal; working hours are 9:00 to 18:00 Portugal Business Hours.

What you will do

• Translate in-game text, UI, legally relevant content, and supporting materials into Spanish according to client guidelines and established terminology.
• Review and edit translations for linguistic accuracy, consistency, natural flow, tone, and cultural relevance.
• Create, maintain, and update glossaries, style guides, and character profiles for localization projects.
• Identify and resolve localization issues, review feedback, and bugs found during testing.
• Use CAT and project management tools such as memoQ and JIRA to track work, queries, and workflow progress.
• Collaborate with translators and clients, support onboarding, evaluate candidate tests, and adapt to changing project priorities.

Requirements

• Must be located within Portugal.
• Exceptional proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong cultural understanding of Spanish markets.
• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services; game localization experience is preferred.
• Solid command of CAT tools, including memoQ, Trados, XTM, or client-specific systems, and familiarity with JIRA or Plunet.
• Excellent linguistic accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage independent tasks, collaborate effectively, and comply with ISO quality standards, GDPR, confidentiality, and company policies.

Nice to have

• Previous game localization experience.
• Experience with onboarding translators and supporting candidate test evaluations.
