MCPP Mobile Power Generator Mechanic

Provides maintenance and logistics services for the U.S. Marine Corps through the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program.

What you will do

• Assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, test, repair, modify, and maintain mobile diesel power generation systems from 1 kW to 100 kW.
• Maintain floodlights, load banks, and electrical equipment removed from ships, support equipment, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform operator, intermediate, and limited major rebuild maintenance, including spot painting.
• Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower-level mechanics while supporting higher-level mechanics.
• Follow established safety, quality, maintenance, and scheduling requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree with at least 500 hours of instruction, or equivalent technical training and experience.
• Four years of directly related work experience.
• Completion of a Basic Electrical Equipment Repairman Course and Advanced Military Maintenance School, or equivalent training.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry, electrical principles, formulas, electronic theory, and general mechanical systems.
• Ability to use wire color codes, symbols, layout sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer specifications.
• U.S. citizenship, a valid state motor vehicle operator license, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card and base access are required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
