Sr. Manager, Product Development (Fine Jewelry)

Location: New York, New York; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Travel: Approximately 20%, including off-site events and annual factory visits abroad.

What you will do

• Lead new fine jewelry product development from initial design through launch, balancing engineering, manufacturing, cost, quality, and design requirements.
• Own production schedules, launch priorities, vendor capacity, critical paths, sample budgets, purchase orders, and product documentation.
• Select and manage vendors, negotiate lead times and costs, monitor performance, and maintain vendor scorecards.
• Assess technical feasibility, manufacturing processes, tooling, materials, gemstones, work-in-progress, and finished product quality.
• Identify risks and delays, develop recovery plans, resolve issues with internal and external partners, and provide project status reporting.
• Coordinate factory audits and supplier assessments covering capabilities, quality systems, production capacity, compliance, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; a focus in Gemology is preferred.
• 8+ years of professional jewelry project management or product development experience.
• Strong knowledge of jewelry manufacturing techniques, jewelry construction, precious metal metallurgy, and gemstones.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, ownership, problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite, particularly Excel, InDesign, and Photoshop; working knowledge of Monday.com, PLM, and Oracle.
• Practical CAD knowledge and a genuine interest in jewelry, craftsmanship, design, and quality execution.
