Product Developer (Furniture)

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States; ability to work in the Stamford, CT office required

What you will do

• Manage product development programs from concept, quoting, and prototyping through testing, approval, purchase order placement, and launch readiness.
• Prepare RFQ packages, evaluate supplier capabilities and bids, conduct costing analysis, and support negotiations with Sourcing.
• Review designer and supplier drawings and prototypes for design intent, construction, materials, assembly, comfort, packaging, performance, and quality.
• Coordinate with Sourcing, Compliance, Quality, designers, suppliers, and leadership on vendor selection, documentation, testing, timelines, budgets, risks, and decisions.
• Develop quality criteria and Quality Assurance Protocols and support inspections and launch-readiness reviews.
• Support, coach, and mentor junior product developers while helping manage workload and priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of product development experience required; furniture industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong project management, communication, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of furniture construction, materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, and quality considerations preferred.
• Experience with retail math, costing analysis, margin calculations, and spreadsheet-based reporting required.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360; Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
• Ability to work in the Stamford, CT office and travel globally as needed.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Furniture industry experience and knowledge of product construction, materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes.
