Lead Mechanic (HDPE)

Location: Henderson, CO 80640, United States; includes travel to job sites and overnight travel of 1–2 days or up to 2–4 days depending on repair severity.

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain McElroy fusion equipment and comparable hydraulic and electrically operated construction equipment.
• Repair power, mechanical, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment, including inspections, fueling, decals, safety warnings, and identification stickers.
• Complete work orders and prepare accurate maintenance, repair, and fuel records.
• Prepare equipment for rental shipment and inspect returned equipment for damage.
• Travel to job sites, support field service operations, attend manufacturer training, and report safety violations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining McElroy fusion equipment or comparable construction equipment.
• Knowledge of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
• Proficiency with hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
• Proficiency with electrical systems, including wiring, control circuits, sensors, switches, and electronic components.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and manufacturer service documentation.
• Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, ability to lift and move heavy equipment, and willingness to complete required McElroy training and certifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with diesel-powered, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic equipment in utility, pipeline, construction, or related industries.
• McElroy equipment training or certification.
• OSHA safety training and other industry certifications.
• Experience in underground utility, natural gas, water, wastewater, telecommunications, mining, or construction-related industries.
• Mechanical field experience and additional equipment or operator certifications.
