Director of Instructional Systems (Education)

Location: Austin, TX, USA; reports to a school or central office site Monday–Friday, with frequent travel across KIPP Texas regions and campuses.

Salary: USD 97,500–105,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design and build instructional data systems, including assessment trackers, progress monitoring tools, dashboards, workflows, templates, and reporting structures.
• Lead the rollout and implementation of assessment practices, data routines, and instructional response systems across assigned schools.
• Coach and support School Leadership Teams in interpreting data, executing instructional routines, and improving teaching and learning.
• Monitor the consistency, quality, accuracy, and practical use of instructional systems across regions.
• Partner with the Managing Director of Instructional Systems to identify risks, refine systems, and improve usability and impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• At least four years of experience in education, including instructional leadership, data, or systems-related roles; principal experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with data-driven instruction, assessment design, progress monitoring, and systems that affect student outcomes.
• Ability to design and operationalize scalable systems, analyze academic data, manage complex projects, and translate strategy into executable structures.
• Ability to support school leaders, influence without direct authority, maintain accuracy and follow-through, and manage multiple priorities.
• Reliable transportation and availability for frequent travel between campuses, regional offices, and other locations across Texas are required.
