VP – Distinguished Engineer of Generative AI Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote

Base salary: $222,431–$370,719 per year

What you will do

• Design and own the enterprise-scale GenAI platform, including context and data layers, model serving, agent frameworks, and evaluation pipelines.
• Build production-grade agentic systems for vehicle engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, software development, and go-to-market workflows.
• Deploy physical AI across manufacturing, including robotic process control, computer vision for quality assurance, predictive maintenance, and robot-to-model feedback loops.
• Develop proprietary knowledge, context, and data architectures based on human, robotic, enterprise, and manufacturing decisions.
• Establish guardrails, evaluation standards, observability practices, security controls, and reliable platform engineering practices.
• Recruit and develop a lean team while remaining hands-on with coding, architecture, code reviews, and stakeholder requirements.

Requirements

• 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years shipping production GenAI systems and 7+ years in senior technical leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, machine learning, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, open-source model deployment, vector databases, agent orchestration, RAG, fine-tuning, and production prompt engineering.
• Experience designing multi-agent systems, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, observability pipelines, and enterprise AI platforms serving thousands of users.
• Experience applying AI to physical systems such as robotics, manufacturing, industrial sensors, autonomous vehicles, or factory equipment.
• Expertise in real-time inference, edge deployment, sensor fusion, computer vision, cloud architecture, streaming data, security, compliance, and cost modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience with physical simulation environments such as Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.
• Published research, widely adopted systems, open-source contributions, or conference presentations.
