Applied AI Engineer (AI)

Location: 100% remote within the continental United States

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI and machine learning solutions for complex business challenges.
• Architect scalable training, inference, and MLOps pipelines for enterprise AI applications.
• Develop, fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize large language models, deep learning models, and multimodal AI systems.
• Build AI applications using retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and agentic AI frameworks.
• Optimize model performance, latency, scalability, and infrastructure utilization across cloud and distributed computing environments.
• Establish practices for model evaluation, responsible AI, governance, security, monitoring, and lifecycle management while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, or applied AI.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a related discipline.
• Expert-level Python and extensive experience with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Production experience with large language models, NLP, computer vision, deep learning, distributed training, GPU optimization, and model serving.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps, CI/CD, model monitoring, feature engineering, automated ML workflows, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, RAG, agentic AI, multimodal AI, and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or FAISS.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, Kubernetes, Docker, Ray, or distributed inference frameworks.
• AI/ML publications, open-source contributions, patents, or recognized technical leadership.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, AI governance, model security, fairness, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Ph.D. or a specialized Master’s degree in AI, ML, computer vision, or NLP.
