Staff AI Enablement Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute the engineering-wide roadmap for generative AI, agentic systems, and AI-assisted software development.
• Diagnose engineering workflows and translate pain points into a prioritized backlog of AI-enabled solutions.
• Design, build, operate, and expand specialized automation agents for engineering and operational workflows.
• Evaluate and pilot AI coding assistants and agentic developer tools, making adoption decisions based on evidence.
• Measure automation impact through time saved, quality improvements, and adoption, then iterate based on usage.
• Modernize rules-based and heuristic systems into data-driven, ML-informed approaches in collaboration with data and clinical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems end to end.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic systems, including prompt engineering, context and tool design, evaluation, and orchestration.
• Production experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, with a clear view of when they create value.
• Working knowledge of applied ML fundamentals, including features, evaluation, and model selection.
• Experience driving technical adoption without direct authority and communicating roadmaps, tradeoffs, and results to engineering leadership.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in a staff or principal-level individual contributor role with cross-team or platform scope.
• Experience building AI enablement programs, developer-experience platforms, or AI governance frameworks.
• Healthcare, healthtech, or other regulated-industry experience.
• Familiarity with vector search, RAG, model evaluation frameworks, LLM observability, or conversational AI products.
