Sr. SW Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $123,000–$190,900 USD per year, with possible bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and support secure, scalable solutions for the Acceptance Solutions transaction-processing platform.
• Develop enterprise-scale APIs, web services, microservices, and integration-focused applications.
• Implement cloud-native systems using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, together with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Build event-driven architectures, data engineering and ETL pipelines, reporting systems, and real-time streaming analytics.
• Apply authentication, encryption, observability, automated testing, performance testing, and production-support practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers while using Generative AI and agentic AI tools.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or Kotlin.
• Experience designing, building, and testing APIs, web services, or microservices.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON, API-first development, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with system design, debugging, code reviews, production support, SQL, data modeling, and dimensional design.
• Ability to work from the Foster City office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of transaction lifecycle, clearing, settlement, funding, reconciliation, financial reporting, compliance, data governance, quality, and lineage.
• Experience implementing Generative AI, agentic AI workflows, or intelligent automation.
