Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist

What you will do

• Perform groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling.
• Submit samples for laboratory analysis and manage and evaluate field and laboratory data.
• Supervise contractors and drillers during field activities.
• Support the preparation of environmental reports.
• Assist project managers on environmental consulting projects.
• Work across office and field settings, including outdoor environments and uneven or steep terrain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a related environmental position.
• Valid Alabama driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required.
• Knowledge of basic soil and groundwater sampling techniques.
• Ability to use or learn field equipment such as pumps, water quality meters, and landfill gas meters.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, and client service skills.

Nice to have

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam.
