Laboratory Analyst (Chemistry)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, United States; onsite work in the Charleston office and production laboratory.

What you will do

• Operate and calibrate laboratory instrumentation while following complex analytical procedures.
• Perform GC/MS analysis of volatile organic compounds and conduct initial data reduction and review.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation.
• Review peers’ analytical data and communicate with project managers, clients, and auditors.
• Support other laboratory operations and take on special projects as skills develop.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Chemistry or Biology.
• At least one year of related laboratory experience.
• Functional knowledge of GC/MS operation and analysis.
• Experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment, with advanced math and computer skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work onsite in Charleston on a full-time weekday schedule, with possible afternoon or evening shifts starting at 12:00 noon or 4:00 pm.
