Junior Controls & Automation Engineer

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; in-office environment with remote work available when needed

What you will do

• Support instrumentation and control system engineering design for maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.
• Participate in site evaluations, data collection, P&ID development, and preparation of instrument lists.
• Assist with equipment specifications, instrument data sheets, motor schematics, loop drawings, layouts, and instrument location drawings.
• Support PLC, DCS, and HMI programming and the preparation of functional descriptions.
• Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and start-up support.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and technicians while supporting senior engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Recent or soon-to-be graduate with little or no professional experience and relevant technical skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering with an interest in controls, or computer science.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Knowledge or interest in control systems, instrumentation, electrical interfaces, SCADA, telemetry, and ISA applications.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not provided.
