Cybersecurity Principal Engineer (Palo Alto)

Location: Boston, MA, United States. What you will do

• Design, implement, harden, and optimize enterprise security platforms across network, cloud, application, AI, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
• Engineer Zero Trust capabilities using identity-based access, segmentation, secure access controls, and continuous verification.
• Develop security standards, reference architectures, guardrails, technical roadmaps, and implementation guidance.
• Improve security monitoring, telemetry, governance, policy enforcement, and platform automation.
• Design security controls and validation approaches for AI and generative AI technologies.
• Lead architecture reviews, risk remediation, vendor evaluations, modernization initiatives, and cross-functional engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, infrastructure security, or related technical roles.
• Deep experience with enterprise network, cloud, application, SaaS, hybrid infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating Palo Alto Networks security platforms in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud security posture management, asset visibility, network access control, web application firewalls, segmentation, and security monitoring.
• Experience in regulated environments such as GxP or SOX, with strong technical leadership and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Illumio, Obsidian, Armis, or similar security platforms.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of AI security, generative AI risks, security governance, NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS frameworks.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience leading security transformation, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing technical direction.
