Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Location: Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite role with office and production-floor responsibilities

Salary: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
• Improve material handling, workstation layouts, plant layouts, and production-cell performance.
• Perform time studies and analyze processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develop methods for fabrication and machining processes and provide technical support to production personnel.
• Support the development of manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
• Create documentation and support activities for new product launches while learning ERP manufacturing software.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to work in both office and production environments, including walking, standing, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
• Ability to shift between detailed computer-based work and occasional physical production tasks.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of or exposure to JD Edwards.
• Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
• Experience with welding, machining, or fabrication.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
