Process Utilities Engineer I

What you will do

• Support the design documentation for critical utility equipment, distribution systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Perform or support engineering calculations, including heat transfer and hydraulic pressure drop calculations.
• Develop deliverables such as process flow diagrams, equipment lists, equipment datasheets, utility summaries, and P&IDs.
• Support field installation teams and participate in construction site observations.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal and external project stakeholders.
• Manage work across concurrent projects and solve engineering problems under supervision.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or bioprocess engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with fluid mechanics, heat transfer, systems design, chemistry, process modeling, material and energy balances, and basic sizing calculations.
• Proficiency with 2D or 3D design platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
