Facilities Process / Mechanical-Chemical Engineer

Location: 100% on-site at the client facility in Santa Clara, California, Monday–Friday. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Salary: $83,200–$118,600 per year

What you will do

• Design and lay out wet and dry piping, process chemical and specialty gas distribution, equipment water and wastewater systems, and specialized exhaust infrastructure.
• Design retrofits for existing industrial building systems supporting complex manufacturing tools.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, component selection, and specification.
• Coordinate equipment layouts and multidisciplinary integration in high-density industrial and cleanroom facilities.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, equipment owners, and tool manufacturers to develop utility matrices and installation packages.
• Provide on-site construction support, including RFI responses, contractor submittal reviews, factory integration, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 3 years of practical mechanical facilities engineering experience covering HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related infrastructure.
• Active Engineer in Training certification and pursuit of a Professional Engineer license.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal and hydronic loops, and hazardous, clean gas, and chemical distribution design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Santa Clara and authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing tools.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks.
• At least 1 year of field experience at active industrial construction or manufacturing sites.
