What you will do
- Develop and maintain global EPR compliance policies, processes, and controls for packaging, WEEE, batteries, plastic packaging taxes, and emerging environmental regulations.
- Act as the subject matter expert for EPR requirements, advising business functions, suppliers, customers, and leadership on registrations, reporting, fees, labelling, and compliance practices.
- Monitor global legislation, industry developments, and customer requirements, translating regulatory changes into practical business processes and compliance strategies.
- Manage third-party EPR service providers, consultants, and reporting partners, including registrations, data submissions, fee calculations, and audit support.
- Lead EPR data collection, validation, reporting, and process improvement with procurement, product management, logistics, finance, sustainability, legal, and IT teams.
- Support customer and supplier requests and participate in industry associations, regulatory working groups, and professional organizations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Extended Producer Responsibility, environmental compliance, sustainability compliance, environmental regulatory affairs, product stewardship, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, business, public policy, chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Deep understanding of EPR legislation, producer responsibility programs, environmental regulations, and compliance management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of global packaging, WEEE, battery, and plastic tax regulations.
- Ability to manage compliance programs across multiple countries, interpret complex legislation, assess risks, and deliver multiple initiatives on schedule.
- Proficiency with MS Office, compliance databases, business intelligence tools, ERP platforms such as SAP, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
