Senior Legal & Privacy Manager (Privacy)

Location: Hybrid or remote in the UK with occasional travel to the Central London office

What you will do

• Run the day-to-day privacy programme across the UK, EU, US and Canada in partnership with the General Counsel, Cybersecurity and business teams.
• Assess new personal-data uses, lead DPIAs and privacy risk assessments, and negotiate DPAs and other privacy terms.
• Coordinate privacy incidents and data-subject requests through resolution while maintaining processing records, retention frameworks, notices and consent standards.
• Own legal intake and matter management, prioritise work, coordinate stakeholders and progress commercial matters through closure.
• Manage contracts, vendor onboarding, trademark administration, brand protection and customer-facing legal documentation.
• Develop legal and privacy training, support governance work, and manage and mentor the Legal Assistant.

Requirements

• Substantial in-house legal, privacy or compliance experience with strong legal literacy and commercial judgement.
• Significant hands-on experience with data protection, including vendor assessments, DPAs, DPIAs, data-subject rights, privacy notices, cookies, consent, incident response, processing records and retention.
• Experience managing legal or compliance workflows and varied caseloads from intake through closure.
• Strong investigation, prioritisation, written communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional ethics, discretion, integrity and confidence working independently while escalating significant matters appropriately.
• Ability to work in the UK in a hybrid or remote arrangement and travel occasionally to the Central London office.

Nice to have

• Law degree, lawyer qualification or another relevant legal or privacy qualification.
• CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent privacy certification.
• Experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, consumer health or another regulated consumer category.
• Exposure to US or Canadian privacy, consumer protection or advertising requirements.
• Commercial contract, trademark portfolio, brand protection or online enforcement experience.
