Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution

Location: Atlanta, GA; nationwide project assignments with approximately 50% travel and long-term onsite assignments throughout North America

Established infrastructure contractor delivering overhead and underground construction services for electric utility systems and fiber networks across North America.

What you will do

• Lead overhead transmission and distribution projects from contract award through commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, staffing plans, procurement, productivity, equipment utilization, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate utility customers, engineering teams, construction managers, field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, landowners, and project stakeholders.
• Develop execution strategies and resolve project risks, schedule impacts, constructability concerns, and operational challenges.
• Lead customer meetings, project reviews, forecasting sessions, schedule updates, and operational planning discussions.
• Manage contract administration, change orders, claims mitigation, commercial negotiations, and compliance with utility and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field, plus 5+ years of project management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience managing overhead transmission and/or overhead distribution construction projects for utilities, EPC contractors, cooperatives, municipalities, or utility developers.
• Knowledge of wood and steel pole construction, lattice towers, transmission foundations, conductor installation and stringing, utility rights-of-way, and grid modernization.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, procurement, customer relationships, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, HCSS, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar software is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, ability to travel approximately 50%, and availability for long-term onsite assignments throughout North America are required.
