Associate Electrical Engineer

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, maintain, and improve electrical components, equipment, products, machinery, and systems.
• Coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, documentation, support, and testing activities for compliance with specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
• Design test control apparatus and determine methods and conditions for electrical and electronic product testing and validation.
• Develop engineering design and testing documentation according to ISO standards.
• Support communications cabling products and applications for commercial, residential, and industrial use.
• Maintain and upgrade the development engineering test laboratory and stay current with EIA/TIA standards and test procedures.

Requirements

• Must work on-site in Melville, New York.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent four-year college degree.
• 0–3 years of experience; electrical engineering internship experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronics concepts, analog and digital design, discrete semiconductors, and RF theory.
• Ability to use computers and engineering software for design tasks, test-result analysis, documentation, and information retrieval.

Nice to have

• Circuit simulation, RF design, connector design, microcontrollers, embedded design, and firmware programming in C++ or Visual Basic.
• Production test fixture design, network and spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and schematic capture experience.
