Senior Electrical Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 4 days per week in office)

Salary: $349,000 – $465,000 per year

What you will do

• Own electrical design standards and reference architectures for medium-voltage systems in AI data centers.
• Lead design processes from utility interconnection through campus distribution and voltage transformation.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and protection schemes.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, grounding, and arc-flash studies.
• Collaborate with utilities, engineering partners, and construction teams to ensure project success.
• Investigate electrical failures and operational risks to drive design improvements.

Requirements

• Experience designing medium-voltage electrical systems for data centers or large industrial campuses.
• Proficiency with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA standards.
• Ability to balance reliability, capacity, cost, and construction schedules.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be able to work from the San Francisco office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale, HPC, or AI data center campus design.
• Knowledge of protective-relay settings, generator paralleling, or microgrids.
• Experience with EMT simulation tools like PSCAD.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or progress toward it.
