Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States

Salary: $205,500–$251,200 annual salary for the Virginia area.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure full-stack applications using Java, Python, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, SQL, and Hibernate.
• Develop application services, database components, user interfaces, and data-processing capabilities across Windows and Linux environments.
• Build and improve continuous integration and delivery pipelines with Git, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and related tools.
• Deploy cloud-based solutions using AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and Auto Scaling.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, and system testing while troubleshooting application, database, integration, and infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with technical and mission teams to define requirements, document designs, recommend solutions, and deliver production-ready capabilities.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph required.
• On-site work in Chantilly, Virginia required.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an accepted education and experience equivalent.
• At least 12 years of relevant software engineering or information technology experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, SQL, Hibernate, unit and integration testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, AWS, Tomcat, Oracle, FidOS, relational and non-relational databases, Git, Jenkins, and Gradle or Maven.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elasticsearch, large-scale search, data indexing, analytics solutions, Puppet, Nexus, SQL Developer, or Eclipse.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available applications for classified or mission-critical environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
