Senior Application Software Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop reliable software used across factory operations, engineering workflows, and mission control.
• Build and evolve applications that support spacecraft design, production, and operations.
• Partner with engineers, business stakeholders, leaders, and customers to identify challenges and improve product adoption.
• Prototype concepts, validate technical constraints, and deliver production-ready features across the full lifecycle.
• Contribute to software architecture, deployment strategy, coding standards, quality processes, and data-driven prioritization.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical tradeoffs to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, platform engineering, or API development.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Expertise with at least one statically typed language such as C#, Go, Java, C++, or TypeScript; experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably AWS EKS.
• Experience with structured and unstructured databases, REST APIs or gRPC, binary management platforms, and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Access to the role is subject to U.S. export control requirements: the successful candidate must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js, React, Angular, Cucumber, or Cypress.
• Experience designing scalable, high-performance software systems.
• Knowledge of build systems, package management, and data streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
