Operational Readiness Lead (IT Service Management)

Location: Farnborough, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Candidates must meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements and have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Lead Operational Readiness Reviews for new and updated IT services and act as the operational readiness authority for deployments.
• Coordinate service transition, operational acceptance, readiness assessments, and go-live reviews across project and operational teams.
• Manage operational risks, issues, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and service support approvals.
• Ensure runbooks, work instructions, knowledge articles, training, and knowledge-transfer activities are completed.
• Validate support structures, escalation paths, monitoring, alerting, backup, recovery, tooling, resource capacity, and training readiness.
• Report readiness status and recommendations to senior leadership and governance boards while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of ITIL principles and frameworks.
• Previous experience in IT Service Management and service transition.
• Experience managing operational readiness or service transition activities.
• Experience working with infrastructure, cloud, application, and support teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, risk management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; UK work authorization and applicable personnel security eligibility are required.
